You may have noticed (or not) that for a 9 month period beginning last July the @theBEECH Web site has been down. One day last summer I arrived at my office to find my computer's hard drive dead. Well, not quite. But, damaged enough that files could not be read from it..
That means almost everything on my C: and D: drives was lost and gone forever. All of my unbackedup (is that a word?) Word documents, Excel spreadsheets, Powerpoint presentations, email messages and addresses, etc. disappeared (including most of the HTML files that make up the pages of the BEECH Web site). I did have some of my files backed up, but still lost a lot. Anyway, this is the computer that hosted all of the servers @theBEECH -- web, ftp, email, mailing lists, newsgroups -- almost all of which were lost.
With the help of the Help Desk, @theBEECH will soon be up and running on a newer hard drive in a newer PC (an old Pentium III) with newer software. Thanks a lot guys! I couldn't have recovered without you.
P.S. By the way, when was the last time you backed up the valuable data on your hard drive? Hmmmmm?
